ホントカヨ、と思う。

読売だと「高学歴ほど認知力の蓄積が厚いので発症が遅い」というトンデモくさいコトが書いてあったが、ホントカヨ。

学歴高いほど記憶喪失も急速＝アルツハイマー発症後−米
　【シリコンバレー２３日時事】培った認知力が高いためか、高学歴者の方がアルツハイマー病など認知症の発症は遅めだが、記憶障害が出始めた後は、より速いペースで記憶の喪失が進む傾向が確認された。米アルバート・アインシュタイン医科大学の研究チームが２３日発行の神経学会誌ニューロロジー最新号で報告した。
　統計的には、認知症発症までの時間は、教育を受けた期間が１年増えるごとに２カ月半遅くなった。逆に、発症後の記憶喪失ペースは、教育が１年増えるごとに４％ずつ加速したという。

"This rapid decline may be explained by how people with more education have a greater cognitive reserve, or the brain's ability to maintain function in spite of damage," added Hall. "So, while they're often diagnosed with dementia at a later date -- which we believe may be because of their ability to hide the symptoms -- there's still damage to their brain."

「知識の欠損を誤魔化す能力があるんで発症を誤魔化している」か。ありそうな話ではある。

The study, published in Neurology, doesn't mean that education causes dementia.
